In 1945 Mercury Dime's Goddess Liberty was replaced by Roosevelt's image. The dime was chosen to honor the President Roosevelt due to his efforts in founding the March of Dimes. Dime was first released to the public in 1946 on Roosevelt's 64th birthday. Roosevelt Dime have been minted at Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco mints. Between 1946 and 1964 Roosevelt Dimes were composed of silver. In 1965 dime's metal content was changed to cupro-nickel. |
